I'm not returning it Life Time City Centre. I spoke with a corporate rep yesterday about it. I'll be in Fredericksburg for the duration. LT sent an email out about gyms reopening on May 18th. Let's be clear, folks: We are at the beginning of this crisis, not the end of it.
It's crazy to open a gym while the number of infected are still rising and tests are not widespread. A virus feeds on people the way that a fire feeds on oxygen. You should not open your windows during a house fire and you should not reopen social spaces during a pandemic.
The restrictions on activity and cleanliness in gyms are severe and people won't follow them. Hell, I would see terrible hygiene and insufficient cleaning on normal days.
There has been no mention of how trainers would be paid or if the model is still commission-based. The whole business model of gyms and yoga studios is utterly broken for the duration of this crisis.
I have been very sad for the past 8-weeks because the in-person time that I enjoyed with you and my livelihood are over. I love being with people and teaching and healing. That's nearly impossible right now. I am providing a live-stream of a corrective exercise class on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:15-8:15 PM. The link is on my website. Donations are completely optional.
