A 3-month Course of Guided Study and Practice

at Life Time Athletic City Centre

Excellent instruction in yoga is hard to come by in a world of crowded flow classes and mass-produced teachers. And even Yoga Teacher Training may not provide sufficient physical education. This course is the answer. It provides the detailed instruction necessary to skillfully practice yoga. The goal of the course is to advance your yoga practice through the deep study of a sequence of poses selected from Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga’s Primary Series.

You will:

  • Be instructed by expert teacher and personal trainer Michael Perkola.

  • Learn each pose step-by-step, especially the alignment of joints and use of muscles.

  • Acquire and integrate knowledge of anatomy and meditation.

  • Learn in a small group of selected individuals.

  • Receive better quality instruction at a lower price point compared to private lessons or Yoga Teacher Training.

The total fee for the course is $660. Payable monthly at $220 in an auto-draft to Life Time Athletic City Centre. Small group training means 3 to 6 people.


Topics of Study and Practice

Asana

ASANA is the practice of movements and poses. Each asana is a challenge and invitation to growth in strength, flexibility, and awareness.

Meditation

Meditation is mental training designed to change the quality and capability of thought. The techniques that will be taught in this course are bodily relaxation, mindfulness, and concentration.

Anatomy and Exercise science

Cultivate one’s body safely through correct knowledge of anatomy and science.

ANATOMY is knowledge of the structures and functions of the human body. The course will teach the basics of functional anatomy and bodily awareness

EXERCISE SCIENCE is the knowledge of physical training for the human body. Modern exercise science corrects many misunderstandings still found yoga instruction, which have been repeated for decades by uninformed instructors.

The first and final sessions are one-on-one assessments.

  1. Submit an application in the form below.

  2. Michael will perform a one-on-one interview with you. This is free of charge.

  3. Make the payment for the first package of 4 sessions at $220. A commitment of 3 months is required.

  4. Your first session will be a private session. It will be an assessment of your current skill level and physical capability.

  5. Receive 10 lessons in a small group. You will receive another one-on-one assessment as your 12th session.
